Rigging up a 55mm filter size Ring-light diffuser for HVL-F20AM – DIY

An urgent need for a ring-light type of lighting came up last night. I had to think of a way to get the shot with the right lighting that I need. No other choice, I had to rig-up a home made ring-light diffuser for use with my 100mm f2.8 macro lens. Well, the final product was good and I thought it would be a good sharing write-up. I basically use the HVL-F20AM as the light source with it off camera.

Here is the finished product mounted on the 100mm f2.8 macro lens:

The whole ring flash diffuser rig in a self portrait into the mirror – suitable for macro and close range portraits with the 100mm f2.8 and 50mm f1.4 lens.
